Fragments

This triptych is from my first solo show, Rendered and Reclaimed (2024). It is constructed from rimu, kauri, and cedar, and incorporates both weatherboards and fragments of old architraves.

The bright turquoise paint, entirely original, creates a strong contrast against the natural timber and white surfaces. I am always intrigued by the stories behind these brightly coloured weatherboards, and the work reflects a dialogue between material, colour, and history.
