This piece, titled Valley, is composed of six individual woodworks arranged offset from the wall to create a three-dimensional effect.
Valley is inspired by mountain ranges and the valleys formed between them. I have long been fascinated by mountains and valleys, and this work reflects their rhythm, structure, and presence through layered timber forms.
Valley made from a combination of mataī and rimu timber. Each pair of pieces measures approximately 200 mm (W) × 250 mm (H), with the six pieces spread across a total width of 1,000 mm.
